£10m HQ planned for Agriculture & Horticulture Board

23 February, 2010

The Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) plans at least 38,000sq ft of office space to house its facilities, costing up to £10m.

Regional Development Agency Advantage West Midlands will pay £4.7m towards the building of the new, single-storey construction, at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

The remainder, according to AHDB, will be funded through a commercial mortgage arrangement.

AHDB chairman John Bridge said: “This is excellent news. We need open-plan offices to help us fully deliver the sharing of best practice and other operational efficiencies expected from the restructuring of the levy boards.”

The building is estimated to take a year to complete, with construction starting in the next few months.
