Farm shop flies flag for England
Yorkshire-based Keelham Hall Farm Shop flew the St George's Cross last month, with the official launch of its award-winning homemade black pudding.
The Thornton shop staged a six-day feast to celebrate St George's Day, laying on free tastings of its black pudding, which struck gold at the National Federation of Meat and Food Traders product evaluation event in March.
Butchers department manager Lee Scott said: "We are flying the flag for England and St George. The North is a great area of black pudding appreciation, so we're celebrating our heritage in true style, at the same time promoting the black pudding as an integral part of the traditional English breakfast."
The product was being showcased as part of Keelham Hall Farm Shop's week-long promotion of the great British breakfast, during 19-24 April, with the store decorated with balloons, bunting and posters in the run-up to St George's Day.
Free tastings of traditional and speciality sausages were also on the St George's Week menu.
