Goose launch from Gressingham

Speciality poultry company Gressingham Foods will be looking to turn consumers onto goose this Christmas with the launch of a new range on the market.

Marketed under the Suffolk-based companys own Gressingham Foods brand, the free-range Gressingham Goose will be available for customer pre-order from Sainsburys from October and will be in-store from the 20 December. The goose will also be stocked by a number of independent retailers and butchers.

The company said the geese are large enough to feed a whole family and are dry-plucked which results in less water loss during cooking, thereby reducing shrinkage.

Gressingham Foods commercial managing director William Buchanan said: Were delighted to be selling our own-brand geese to the retail market. Gressingham Foods is synonymous with quality poultry and speciality meats and were confident that our delicious Gressingham Goose will prove a huge hit with consumers.
