Moy Park gets things moving
Moy Park has streamlined its supply chain communications through the use of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
The firm supplies own-label and branded chicken products to an increasing number of retail and foodservice customers across Europe, so the communication of supply chain data demanded automation. The system previously in place required hours of manual input each day, which was labour-intensive and led to mistakes.
But by using a solution from Freeway Commerce, Moy Park has been able to automatically transfer supply chain data with existing retail customers, regardless of the messaging format used by the retailer. The firm has now been able to add new retail customers to its portfolio, due to its ability to transact via EDI, which allows the exchange of business data from one firm's computer application to that of a trading partner.
