a new way of cooking
Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM), the East Kilbride-based manufacturer, has introduced a 'Vollrath' Mirage induction hob as a more cost-effective cooker for light commercial use.
The free-standing hob measures 35.6x38.7x7.6cm and is suitable for small kitchens where countertop space is at a premium. It has an output of 1,440-1,800 watts and a top temperature of 289°C.
A temperature memory function powers up to the last used temperature setting when the hob is turned on, while a 1-180 minute timer further simplifies kitchen procedures.
Overheat protection, empty pan and auto pan detection are intended to prolong the life of the hob.
Small article detection prevents the hob heating watches or jewellery accidentally dropped or left on the surface.
If not used for a period of time, the hob automatically turns off.
