Hilton Food Group reports upbeat trading
Meat packing firm Hilton Food Group has issued an upbeat interim management statement, reporting strong growth throughout continental Europe.
The company, which supplies major European retailers including Tesco and Ahold, said it was rolling out its business in the Baltics as planned.
In the Netherlands, volume sales were up and the company had started using a new automated warehouse, and, in Denmark, the development of a site to supply Coop Danmark was in progress. The company added that, across Western Europe, it was seeing “encouraging sales trends”.
Hilton Food Group reported in July that turnover for the first half of the year was up 5% to £449.9m. Pre-tax profit increased by 12% to £11.5m in the same period. “There have been no significant changes to this position,” it said. The group said it would issue its preliminary results for the full year on 31 March.
