Dyneema glove material gets thumbs-up
Dyneema ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibres can now be used in cut-resistant gloves for the food processing industry in Europe.
Dyneema's UHMWPE fibre has now been granted approval under EU regulations regarding materials used in contact with food.
The gloves combine a high level of protection with enhanced comfort and durability, said the company. Wearer comfort is as important as protection performance as it ensures the gloves are actually worn, the company added. Gloves made with Dyneema are said to have long service lives and withstand multiple laundering cycles.
