Mahan Foods bought out of administration
Mahan Foods – the London-based distributor and importer of Middle Eastern food and beef sausages – has been bought out of administration.
The company, which was set up 20 years ago and has an annual turnover of £2m, has been acquired by rival Leila Foods for an undisclosed sum.
The sale, which was handled by SFP – the nationwide insolvency practitioner, has saved 14 jobs.
SFP’s Daniel and Simon Plant – both licensed members of the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association – were appointed joint administrators of Mahan Foods Limited on 7 January, 2011 after the company ran in to financial difficulties.
Simon Plant, group partner at SFP, said: “Both SFP and Leila Foods worked hard to find the right outcome for this business after it was placed into administration. It is now continuing to trade and all of the staff still have their jobs.”
