Keelham aims big for National Butchers' Week
Keelham Farm Shop in Thornton is staging one of the area’s biggest celebrations to mark National Butchers’ Week all this week (13-20 March).
The company said customers at the Denholme & Brighouse Road outlet were being “spoiled rotten”, with multiple free tastings, help and advice forums – even championship-winning prime lamb – on the National Butchers’ Week menu.
Keelham Farm Shop is inviting shoppers to tuck into free samples of its traditional and speciality sausages – award-winners among them – along with a new range of ready-to-cook products launched to coincide with the event.
Butcher’s shop manager Lee Scott will showcase the traditional art of sausage-making at both morning and afternoon master classes during the week, plus a lunchtime session on the Saturday.
He will also head up ‘Ask the Butcher’ question and answer forums for customers, providing expert advice on all matters meat-related, including how to cut and cook it.
Title-winning prime lamb will be available throughout the week after Keelham Farm Shop’s James Robertshaw again purchased the champion and reserve champion pens of lambs – 10 in total – at Skipton Auction Mart’s March prime shows and sales.
Keelham Farm Shop’s Victoria Robertshaw said: “Three generations of the Robertshaw family have been farming butchers and our current team of master butchers has over 200 years’ experience – that’s some pedigree.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to help our customers enjoy the taste and flavour of our meat and other produce – and making them smile when they visit us. The reason people like us is because we are really friendly, always doing something different and constantly offering good advice.”
