Butcher shifts 3,000lb of sausage in a week
Canny promotions helped a Scottish butcher to sell more than 3,000lb (1,360kg) of sausage during National Butchers’ Week.
Graeme Johnston, who runs Fergusons of Airdrie, ran a huge number of promotions and events during the week to great success.
Some of the events the business organised included sausage tastings, a “create a new sausage flavour” competition for local schools, along with vouchers for schools for discounts and free sausages.
Graeme said: “What a great week we had, the sausage competition received over 300 entries and the winning entry received a voucher for a Breakfast Pack which was presented by local MSP Karen Whitefield.”
