Gressingham duck gets royal nod of approval
Gressingham Foods received a boost after it was announced that its duck was one of the ‘best of British’ on the official menu at the Royal wedding.
The canapes that were served to the 650 VIP reception guests were designed to show off British foods and came from carefully selected Royal Warrant-holding companies.
William Buchanan, commercial managing director of Gressingham Foods, said: “It’s a huge honour to see Gressingham Duck featured at the Royal wedding – especially as the menu was designed to showcase the best food that the country has to offer. To be part of such a special occasion and to have our duck recognised on a national level as a quality product is a great privilege.”
Gressingham Foods is the only company licensed to produce Gressingham Duck, a unique cross-breed of wild Mallard and Pekin duck. Produced in Suffolk, it has a rich, gamey flavour with a low fat content and high percentage of breast meat.
