Mettrick back on TV with new Kill It series
A new series from the Kill It, Cook It, Eat It team is to hit TV screens later this month, this time focusing on animal slaughter and by-products.
Glossop-based butcher John Mettrick will once again be lending his expertise to the new programme, called Kill It, Cut It, Use It, which will focus on how animal by-products end up in everyday items from a hair brush to a car seat.
Hosted by Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury, a cow programme will follow the process of slaughter at Mettrick’s abattoir through to the use of leather in a car factory. A following programme involving John will follow the process of how hair from a wild boar ends up in a hair brush.
Kill It, Cut It, Use It will be on BBC3 on 13 June at 9pm.
