Ginger Pig to open new shop in west London
Upmarket organic butcher, the Ginger Pig is set to open a new shop in west London in an exclusive area between Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush.
Owner Tim Wilson has just signed the lease on a shop in Askew Road, which will open in October.
The Ginger Pig already has four shops in London, including its flagship Marylebone store and the orginal shop in Borough Market. A particular favourite with chefs and food writers, it sells fresh organic meat and cooked produce made at its farm on the Yorkshire moors.
Wilson said: “It’s not in a particularly foody area, but it’s a busy little road with a very nice feel to it. We’ve literally just mentioned it, but have already had a vast amount of response on twitter to the news.”
The company is also launching cookery courses in September, which will build on the success of its popular butchery courses. Last month, Wilson brought out a cook book, The Ginger Pig Meat Book, which he wrote with cook and food writer Fran Warde.
