Co-op rolls out new Welsh lamb cuts

07 July, 2011

The new season of Welsh Cambrian Mountains lamb is on the shelves of selected larger Co-op stores, after the supermarket rolled out five new cuts for its premium ‘Truly Irresistible’ label.

The new products include Cambrian Mountains Welsh lamb chops, chump steak, half leg of lamb, shoulder of lamb and lamb neck fillets.

The premium quality Welsh lamb range comes from a group of 21 Freedom Food-accredited producers in mid-Wales who are all part of the Cambrian Mountains Initiative. The project was inspired by HRH the Prince of Wales to help promote rural enterprise within the traditional upland farms heartland, to help protect the environment and add value to products.

The Co-op have announced 10p from the sale of every pack of Cambrian lamb goes to the Cambrian Mountains Trust, which supports community, sustainable and environmental projects in the Cambrian Mountains.
