Riders under way on BDCI bike ride
The BDCI's round Britain and Ireland cycle ride gets under way today, with the four athletes being joined by guest riders as the first leg kicks off in Shropshire this morning.
The four riders, Stuart Roberts, John Mercer, Eoin Ryan and Mark Allan, set off from ABP Shrewsbury this morning, heading into Wales on the first stage of the ride, which will see them cycle through England, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
A total of 600 miles will eventually see the team arrive in Edinburgh next Monday.
The event is being organised to raise money for industry charity, the BDCI, which helps people within or connected to the meat industry who are struggling or have fallen on hard times.
