Gaucho beefs up operations
Upmarket steak restaurant chain Gaucho has seen its sales rise by 11.5%, according to documents filed at Companies House.
The parent company, Gaucho Holdings Limited, recorded profits of just over £50.6m in the year to the end of December 2010, up from £45m last year, in spite of the downturn in the economy. It revealed that it is planning to continue its expansion, and is due to open a restaurant in Dubai.
The group currently runs 14 restaurants in the UK, one in the Netherlands and one in Lebanon, as well as two franchised restaurants in Kuwait.
The Argentinian steakhouse chain has recently launched a new brand restaurant in the UK, specialising in beef and steak prepared in an Argentinian style. CAU, an acronym for Carne Argentina Unica opened in Guildford, Surrey last month, joining a sister restaurant in Amsterdam.
