Internships offered at Linpac
Linpac Packaging is offering new internship opportunities for undergraduates or recent graduates looking to kick-start their careers.
The European packaging manufacturer, which supplies the meat sector, is offering two paid placements during 2012, with flexible start dates and working periods. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work at different Linpac sites across Europe for weeks at a time and will gain a greater understanding of today’s manufacturing industry and develop skills for the future.
They will work with the central innovation team on two key projects that relate to quality control, monitoring competitor activity and building a database of Linpac products and tooling, which can be used by the innovation, sales and marketing teams.
Joanna Stephenson, Linpac’s vice-president for marketing and innovation, said: “We are committed to employee training and education and recognise that developing skilled people is essential if Linpac Packaging is to remain competitive, efficient and productive and, of course, to maintain our position as an innovator in the packaging sector.
“We very much look at the long-term plan and, as part of our ‘fresh thinking’ ethos, we continually strive to encourage all our employees to complete training on an ongoing basis. The success of any business is down to its people, and these internships are a great way to bring new talent into our Linpac Packaging family.”
Linpac Packaging has sites across the world and the interns will have the opportunity to work at many of the firm’s sites in Europe for weeks at a time. Applicants should be studying towards, or have recently completed, a scientific, industrial design or engineering degree-level qualification and language skills are desirable, but not essential.
Stephenson added: “While people don’t need to have related experience, some knowledge of manufacturing would be desirable. We are looking for people who are comfortable with analytical work and have the ability to carry out research and present findings clearly to senior members of staff. These internships are a fantastic opportunity for someone starting out in their career or wanting to build on their experience, while working with a leading company in the packaging sector."
