West Midlands' best bangers
Two butchers from Staffordshire and Wolverhampton won the West Midlands ‘tastiest sausage’ competition, organised by Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF).
Packington Moor Farm Shop, based in Lichfield, won the breakfast sausage category with its ‘porker’, while Robinsons Butchers, from Tettenhall, grabbed the speciality sausage prize with its pork and caramelised onion sausage.
The 11th annual West Midlands ‘tastiest sausage’ competition took place in Birmingham last Thursday. A panel of 14 judges, including BBC Midlands Today’s Kay Alexander and BBC Radio 4 soap The Archers actor Tom Graham, tasted over 80 sausages from butchers based all across the West Midlands.
