ANM announces Sheffield closure
The ANM Group has confirmed the closure of its Yorkshire Premier Meat site in Sheffield.
The decision follows a four-week consultation process with staff, and all production has now ceased at the site, while remaining stock will be transferred to Yorkshire Premier’s other plant in South Kirkby.
A total of 59 staff were being made redundant, and the company said it was forced to close the site, which it had owned since 1993, due to the unsustainable level of losses being experienced.
ANM Group chief executive Alan Craig paid tribute to the service of the staff and the professionalism they had shown during the consultation period.
He added: “I would like to thank all the staff for their efforts during what has been a very difficult period for everyone. Today’s closure is following their agreement.”
The Sheffield site will now be marketed by ANM Group as a food production factory within the industry.
