DBC appoint new marketing and buying director
DBC Foodservice has appointed a new director to its management board who will head up its marketing, buying and quality assurance team.
Simon King joins DBC from Coco-Cola, where he was a director in procurement with responsibility for £1bn worth of spend. Previously, he was the national caterers’ business development manager, looking after the contract catering side of Coca-Cola’s business.
Chris Horne, managing director of DBC Foodservice, said “Simon brings with him the structure, rigour and vision of having worked for a major FMCG blue-chip company, attributes which will be extremely valuable in driving our buying and marketing teams forward and ultimately building DBC’s business.”
Simon King, buying and marketing director at DBC Foodservice, said: “I am delighted to join DBC and to be part of such a dynamic organisation as well as the largest British-owned foodservice company. Everyone I have met so far at DBC is highly passionate about food and has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry. I am greatly looking forward to working with my teams to further grow DBC in the marketplace and ensure that its excellent customer service continues to come first and foremost.”
