The champagne-based sausage is on sale in butcher’s shops across the country, with 10p from every 1lb of sausages going to charity. The Q Guild is aiming to raise over £14,000 for ChildLine this year.
Q Guild chairman Brindon Addy said: “We are very proud of the Q Guild and what it stands for, and wanted to mark its silver anniversary and share the celebration with all of our members and their customers.”
“The sausage is delicious, a real treat – perfect served with a creamy mash and an orange marmalade. I think it will go down very well with our customers and help to raise a sizzling amount of money for a very worthy cause.”
The Q Guild, which launched in 1986, promotes traditional craft skills and award winning meat products. Its members range from the Shetlands to Cornwall, and serve £3m-worth of meat and related products to more than a quarter of a million UK consumers every week.
ChildLine was also launched 25 years ago by TV presenter and campaigner Esther Rantzen, and has helped more than 2.6 m children and young people through its free, 24-hour telephone service.
