The bespoke caramelised onion and mozzarella Aberdeen Angus burgers went on sale on Good Friday at the membership-only wholesaler, and will be available throughout Costco's stores.
The company, which was set up in 2008 by husband-and-wife team Roland and Miranda Ballard, already has contracts with Waitrose, Budgens, Ocado and several London restaurants.
Miranda Ballard said: “We’re excited about supplying Costco and trying out our brand new bumper pack design. We hope there will be shoppers and caterers looking for really good-quality British Aberdeen Angus beef burgers this summer and that they will like the caramelised red onion and mozzarella flavour twist too.”
The Worcestershire-based company earned column inches recently by posting a spoof-Hollywood action-film training sequence on YouTube in a bid to recruit a London-based assistant to help with sales and in-store sampling of its products. Hoping for at least five applicants, owner Ballard said that the response was phenomenal and, with more than 500 hits in the first two days, 50 people sent in their CVs.
