Pork pie company goes nationwide

Artisan pork pie producer Adams & Harlow has been listed with nationwide gourmet mail order supplier British Fine Foods, and is embarking on a campaign to raise the profile of its traditional hand-raised pies.

The company, which was launched at the Speciality Fine Food Fair last September by sisters Mary and Lizzi Adams, has also won a gold award in the savoury pie category at the British Pie Awards 2012 for its chicken and ham pie. The two sisters are great-granddaughters of two rival Lincolnshire butchers, and come from the family who has run Geo Adams and Sons Butcher’s in Spalding since 1910.

Adams & Harlow’s director Mary Adams said: “We’re delighted to be featured on the British Fine Foods website and to be able to share our pork pies with the nation.”

British Fine Foods founders Andrew and Pam Harper said: “British Fine Foods aims to bring the very best artisan foods direct to the nation’s door. Adams & Harlow’s pork pies were simply the best we have ever tasted, so we are delighted to be working with them as our sole pork pie supplier.”

British Fine Foods was voted the ‘Best Food Mail Order Supplier’ by Gourmet Britain.

Adams & Harlow is also available at a selection of delis and farm shops around the UK, and also supplies Fortnum & Mason with an exclusive pie, as well as a number of Antic pubs across north, south and east London.
