APPG chairman to speak at Eblex conference

The chairman of the Beef and Lamb All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Neil Parish is to speak on the government’s role in agriculture at this year’s Eblex conference.

The conference, which will take place at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth on 30 October, will examine the opportunities for beef and lamb in the changing global marketplace and will also feature the perspective of Marks and Spencer’s head of agriculture Steve McLean. Beef farmer and Eblex member Paul Westaway will also hold a talk on how producers put science into practice.

Eblex sector director Nick Allen will give an overview of the beef and lamb outlook, while head of trade development Peter Hardwick will speak on global opportunities. Marketing in the home sector will also come under the spotlight in a presentation from Jane Ritchie-Smith, Eblex consumer marketing manager.

Eblex senior regional manager and event organiser Dr Phil Hadley said: “Our annual conference provides the ideal platform for all involved in our sector to meet and discuss an array of industry issues. We have an excellent programme of presentations which I’m sure delegates will find interesting and informative.”
The conference, free to Eblex levy payers, will also include question and answer sessions with Eblex staff.
