Bullish report: NFU to launch beef supply chain vision
The NFU is launching a ground-breaking report for the beef industry at the Livestock Event at the NEC, Birmingham tomorrow, which will outline the challenges for the beef supply chain.
Peter Garbutt, the NFU’s chief livestock advisor, said that the NFU's Bullish Prospects- a vision for the beef industry would deal with how the beef industry can overcome the “conundrum" of high prices, poorer returns and poor producer confidence to satisfy consumer demand for British beef.
The NFU said the report would set a “positive vision for a profitable, market driven, internationally competitive and sustainable beef industry in the UK.”
NFU President, Peter Kendall, and NFU Livestock Board Chairman, Charles Sercombe, will give an overview of the report in the Business Management Zone at the Livestock Show.
