Smithfield trader awards banking contract to Barclays
A trader at Smithfield Market has awarded its banking operations to Barclays.
The family-run business PJ Martinelli, which supplies restaurants, pubs and caterers, has moved its banking operations after 25 years to Barclays.
According to the bank, the management of day-to-day banking as well as the provision of trade loans will now be handled by them.
Paul Martinelli of PJ Martinelli said: “We are a family-run business and this is a really positive move for us at a time when we are celebrating 25 years at Smithfield.”
Relationship director at Barclays Sue Chapman explained that the business recognised the need to have a certain type of financial support to encourage growth, which Barclays can offer.
