New abattoir plans for Shropshire
Plans have been revealed for a major new abattoir and meat processing plant in Shropshire.
Meat processing company Pickstock Ashby wants to open up a new 8,500 sq metre site in Telford, which could create up to 150 new jobs if it opens.
Pickstock Ashby is aiming to relocate from its current site in Hartshorne in Derbyshire.
In its application to local Telford & Wrekin Council, the company stated: “The relocation to a modern purpose-built unit is a significant investment for the company and demonstrates its ambitions and commitment to the future expansion of the business.
“The move provides the business with a competitive edge, securing its future and growth.”
Pickstock Ashby, formed in 2003 to operate the abattoir at Hartshorne in South Derbyshire supplies beef products to the UK and international markets.
The application will now be considered by planners at the council.
