Bpex man given greater AHDB role
A senior pig analyst who works within the Bpex section of the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has been appointed to the new position of market specialist manager in the AHDB Market Intelligence division.
Although Stephen Howarth has been appointed to the new role, Bpex said it does not mean he will be cutting links with Bpex and will still be responsible for AHDB/Bpex’s pig market publications.
However, Howarth will oversee the work of market specialists in AHDB’s other livestock sectors, starting with beef and lamb.
Howarth said “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to develop the services we provide to levy payers across the livestock sectors.
“I’d like to reassure Bpex levy payers that they should notice no difference in the services we provide to them. In fact, my new role will help improve our understanding of how different markets for livestock products influence one another.
“It will also make it easier for us to take advantage of opportunities to work together on issues of interest to all livestock sectors.”
