Eblex appointment focuses on supply chain

A new appointment to the Eblex team will see processors encouraged to maximise carcase utilisation as well as take advantage of growing export opportunities.

Christine Walsh has joined Eblex from its sister organisation MLCSL as supply chain development manager. She will be working with processors and will offer advice and support on markets and products amid the growing beef and lamb export market.

Walsh said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with the supply chain and helping abattoirs improve income by reducing waste.”

Eblex southern senior regional manager Dr Phil Hadley explained Walsh would be a great addition to the Eblex team, helping to “strengthen” activity in the processing sector. “The ever-increasing export market gives processors of all sizes opportunities to reduce waste by upgrading products that are not consumed in this country, but are highly valued in overseas markets,” Hadley added. “Christine will assist processors in this area to enable them to understand and access these markets.”
