Meat and poultry supplier targets Chinese New Year

Foodservice sector meat and poultry supplier Gilbert’s Foods has launched a sweet chilli chicken dish in a bid to cash in on the Chinese New Year celebrations this 10 February.

The Oriental-style main course dish contains a full, boneless chicken breast in a “medium hot” sweet chilli sauce.

Gilbert’s Foods will be selling the meals for use as individual portions of 275g each and promoting them as “quick and easy for busy chefs to prepare”, as the dish can be cooked using a sous-vide or in the microwave.
 
Managing director of Gilbert’s Foods Peter Smith said: “Chinese New Year is a great opportunity for hotels, restaurants, caterers and foodservice outlets to boost profits during this quieter period.
 
“Our range is specifically designed for the foodservice sector and is a great menu addition around Chinese New Year, but is also a classic dish that can be enjoyed all year round.”
