HCC hunts for red meat globe-trotters
Published:  19 April, 2013

Welsh red meat promotion agency Hybu Cyg Cymru (HCC) is searching for two people in the industry who can travel across the globe to research how to improve the production of red meat.

The successful applicants will be two people who are working full-time in the Welsh red meat industry, who are interested in travelling to investigate new techniques and practices, and how they can be transferred to Wales.

HCC’s technical development executive Lynfa Davies said: "Over the past decade, our scholars have travelled to Australasia, North and South America and Europe to investigate a myriad of different topics, from low-cost beef production systems in Brazil to pork production and meat curing in the USA.

"Previous scholars have told me these trips have been very eye-opening experiences and made them think about their business approach, so I would encourage anyone with the drive to develop their enterprise and the industry to come forward with their ideas," she added.

Applications must be sent to ljdavies@hccmpw.org.uk by 7 June.
