New pork firm appoints non-executive director

British pork producer Karro Food Group has announced the appointment of a new non-executive director.

The company, which has annual sales of £540m and describes itself as a “Britain’s newest pork producer”, as it was introduced as a result of Vion pulling from the UK in January this year, will see Brian Stein take to the role of non-executive director.

Stein will serve on the board and work closely with the management team and its investment partners in order to develop business and drive growth.

Karro CEO Seamus Carr said: “We are delighted that Brian has chosen to join our board, bringing with him an enormous depth of experience and a strong track record. Working closely with me and the rest of the leadership team, he will help us implement our strategy of building sustainable farming relationships, first-class production facilities, a strong team and high-quality product ranges in order to offer our customers the best in British pork.”

Stein said: “This is an extremely exciting time for Karro and for me personally. Since launching Karro as an independent company, the leadership team has already made great strides in shaping its future growth and I look forward to helping them to continue this and create a force to be reckoned with in the pork industry.”
