Q Guild reveals results from north-east BBQ contest
The regional finals of the National BBQ Competition saw Q Guild butchers battle over the best sausages, burgers and steaks in the north-east of England.
R Turnbull & Sons butchers won the overall classes with its locally-sourced traditional pork sausages and beef and caramelised onion burger.
The burger was crafted by 22-year-old Daniel Turnbull and the sausage was tailored specifically for the competition by the young butcher.
Q Guild national chairman Brindon Addy took the prize for the best steak, which was a prime ribeye that had been dry-aged for 21 days. Addy said: “I’m chuffed to bits to win the steak competition, as the other entries were of a really high calibre.”
The finals of the Q Guild National BBQ Competition will be held at The Webet Grill Academy in Oxford on 19 June.
