Eblex embarks on new efficiency drive

More English sheep and beef farmers are being recruited by red meat levy body Eblex, to help gather information with the aim of driving more efficient production.

The information will be used in Eblex’s new annual cost production survey, Stocktake, which will replace the Business Pointers report. It will then be used to identify best practice and where efficiencies can be made.

Eblex head of inputs and production economics Mark Topliff said: “Stocktake will enable beef and sheep producers to benchmark their costs of production against the national figures. The assessment will help them identify where positive changes can be made to their enterprises to improve efficiency.”
