Macsween Edinburgh wins Scotland Family Business of the Year

Scotland’s Family Business of the Year has been awarded to Macsween of Edinburgh, voted by the public and a judging panel of family business experts.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, Macsween was praised for merging family values with innovation in a modern-day market, and the directors were praised for their proactive and progressive approach.

The award recognises the “successful contribution that family businesses have made to the UK economy” and the award was given at an evening reception in London hosted by Farrer & Co.

Joint managing director Jo Macsween said the family was delighted to receive the award and added: “As a family company we aim to harness the best elements of our core DNA and nurture them to best effect. At the core of our values is the desire to grow in an environmentally and ethically sustainable manner, always focusing on the consumer’s need, therefore winning such a prestigious award is very affirming for us and we will continue to strive for excellence.”

Additionally, the Macsween business was recently awarded Best Food Producer at the Midlothian Food and Drink Awards.
