Alnwick butcher launches burger packs
Published:  22 July, 2013

Burger-buffs across Northumberland are being challenged to make their own burgers for the barbecue this summer.

Aficionados can have a crack at creating burgers at home, following the launch of Alnwick-based Turnbull’s Butchers’ gourmet burger package: The Burger Bonanza.

The packs contain five different burgers with specially created buns from another local business. Additional ingredients and recipe cards will also be supplied.

The meat used for the burgers is all locally sourced and themed burgers include a pork and apple burger called The Big Fat Percy Porker; a beef and caramelised onion burger called Harry Hotspur; and three other colourfully named burgers.

Owner of Turnbull’s Butchers Mark Turnbull said: “It’s a complete burgers package. We want to get people fired up and equipped with all the ingredients to have a go at creating the new burgers themselves.”

The butcher will also be firing up his own barbecue outside of his Market Street shop on Saturdays throughout the school summer holidays.
