BuyBritish campaign sees hundreds of banners across the UK

The BuyBritish campaign is going strong with hundreds of banners displayed around the country in prime locations on land owned by farmers and growers.

The campaign, which is run by the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) with support from the National Pig Association (NPA), is backed by more than 200 farmers and growers.

NFU president Peter Kendall said: “The banner campaign has been extremely popular with farmers and growers taking up the challenge of urging the public to buy British. It’s an incredibly simple but effective way of using their land to promote the campaign itself and the good work they do on-farm so they can ensure more British food ends up on more British plates.”

With a strong Red Tractor focus, the BuyBritish campaign coincides with the Trust the Tractor initiative backed by Assured Food Standards and AHDB.

Head of marketing and communications for Red Tractor Assurance Richard Cattell said: “Now more than ever it’s important to know the food you are buying comes from a trusted source. The banner campaign will enable us to tell the British public why it is important to trust the Red Tractor in an eye-catching and memorable way.”
