Pig Trainee of the Year sought
The search is on for the next Bpex Trainee of the Year award and producers are encouraged to nominate both experienced staff and newcomers.
Nominees are urged to show how training is benefiting their career and livestock performance on their unit, and is open for entry by all English pig unit personnel.
The winner will receive a cash prize, a training grant, an engraved trophy and a night in London to attend the event.
Bpex skills manager Samantha Bowsher says: “The award is about recognising personal development and the practical skills acquired through training. It is really motivating, not only for entrants and their employers, but also for the industry as a whole.”
The closing date is 26 August and the shortlisted candidates will be invited for an informal interview on 24 September.
Nominations can be made at www.bpex.org.uk/2ts/training/Awards.aspx
