Weber Control System wins design award

The Weber Control System from Interfood Technology has won the Red Dot award for its slicers and infeeders, due to their outstanding design and simple operation.

The system won the award after 6,800 products from 43 countries had been submitted to the competition.

Joint managing director of Interfood Technology Jim Sydenham said: “Flexibility is key to many slicing operations and the many different functions and options available in the Weber range are certainly one of its major selling points, in that this allows the slicer to be configured to meet the needs of very specific slicing criteria.

“However, it is vitally important that this can be achieved easily, without the technology becoming too difficult for the operators to work with. In its new Power Control technology, Weber has come up with an approach that is very familiar to many through their use of smartphones and tablets in that it employs graphics which are swiped on a touchscreen to bring up the various options.”

The Red Dot is recognised as an independent seal of quality and is presented annually in Germany by the Design Zentrum NRW.
