Eblex teams with Nigel Haworth for quality scheme
Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth has joined Eblex to send a positive message about the benefits of the Quality Standard Mark (QSM) scheme for beef and lamb.
As a QSM ambassador, Haworth confirmed he is both passionate about the product consistency and proud to be associated with the high standards of the QSM.
“I am delighted to be an ambassador for the QSM Scheme because it’s such a good food story, starting on the farm and ending on the plate. The quality and consistency of the cuts are some of the best I’ve seen. This is a totally assured, independently inspected supply chain, leaving me in no doubt that these are products which are worth shouting about,” said Haworth.
The scheme provides high-quality food safety, animal welfare, care for the environment and consistent eating quality. It is free to join, and its members are able to use the QSM logos on menus, websites and marketing literature as a reassurance for its customers.
Eblex marketing manager (Quality Schemes) Laura Bishop said: “Having a Michelin-starred chef champion our Quality Standard Mark Scheme for beef and lamb is great news for Eblex, as his endorsement will really help to convey the benefits of becoming a Scheme member.
“At a time when more consumers than ever are looking for assurance and origin indicators when buying and eating red meat, it makes sense to source through an assured supply chain. Nigel sources QSM beef and lamb to serve in his restaurants as he knows he will be getting a product that has guaranteed quality, consistency and provenance.”
