International Safety Awards launched
The formal launch of the British Safety Council’s International Safety Awards (ISAs) 2014 have been announced.
This year will be the 56th year of the ISAs and will recognise various organisations’ commitments to good health and safety management, during the 2013 calendar year.
According to the British Safety Council (BSC), the awards are open to organisations of all sizes and sectors and not limited to BSC members. Around 470 organisations from various industries and countries won an ISA last year.
Launching the awards this year, BSC chief executive Alex Botha said: “Excellent health and safety management is good for people and good for business; it makes workplaces safer and healthier. Good health and safety is good business.
“The International Safety Awards recognise those organisations from around the globe that have shown a real commitment and dedication to keeping their workplaces and workers healthy and safe.”
He said winning an ISA can allow an organisation to enhance its reputation and encourage other businesses to work towards higher standards.
The closing date for applications is 21 February 2014 and the results will be announced on 13 March 2014.
