Blue Coo promotes Scottish Sausage Week

Scottish Sausage Week has seen the launch of the Blue Coo sausage, which consists of Scotch beef and blue cheese.

The creation was made in an attempt to combine two of the nation’s characteristic tastes and the recipe has been made available to all Scottish butchers in a bid to promote sausage week.

It was made as part of a competition which saw 80 butchers battling out the title of Sausage for Scotland. The entries were narrowed down to five finalists by butchers at six regional cook-offs around the country last month.

Uphall butchers John Lawson and Sons created the winning entry with Strathdon blue cheese as its special ingredient.

The Scottish Sausage Week is running from 28 October to 6 November.
