Meat firm wins Exporter of the Year Award

Elmgrove Foods has been awarded the Food and Drink Federation’s (FDF’s) Exporter of the Year Award, following its success in generating 100% of its business internationally.

The Dungannon-based meat products manufacturer won the accolade, which was for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), at the FDF’s awards last week, held at Vinopolis in London.

Businesses from across the food and drink sector attended the awards, which were sponsored by the Food and Drink Exporters Association.

Elmgrove Foods was recognised for breaking into international markets and generating 100% of its sales revenue from exports to Europe, Africa and the Far East. “The management team’s great eye for new opportunities and the commitment of the company’s employees has driven major increases in sales of its unique, high-quality beef, lamb and pork products over the last four years,” said an awards case study on the company.

FDF director of economic and commercial services Steve Barnes said: “The FDF awards truly are a badge of excellence and Elmgrove Foods’ success demonstrates the rewards on offer to food and drink SMEs who proactively seek export opportunities.

“Elmgrove Foods was presented with the Exporter of the Year Award for its dedication to enhancing food exports. The company focuses on quality and its customers, investing in partnerships to continue its successful exports overseas. This is a great example of how investing in exports can deliver increased rates of growth in the food and drink industry.”
