Free trade under spotlight at Outlook conference
The impact of free trade on the pig industry will be discussed in one of the main sessions of next year’s AHDB Outlook Conference.
The particular session will be looking at the changing trading environment in both Europe and worldwide due to free trade agreements having an important impact.
With Canada’s liberalised trade, production cost is lower and for pig producers this is quite an important issue.
AHDB senior analyst Stephen Howarth said: "This conference is of great importance for all those in the pig industry. The information they can gain will help them make informed business decisions for the rest of the year.
"It is also a good opportunity for networking with the red meat industry. This year, for the first time, we are also including a section on the poultry industry and this is something we plan to expand in the future."
The conference will take place at One Great George Street in London on 12 February.
