A North East of Scotland meat processing plant has been fined £600 after the spleen was not fully removed from the carcase of a cow.

A north east of Scotland meat processing plant has been fined £600 after the spleen was not fully removed from the carcase of a cow.

McIntosh Donald of Porthleven admitted breaching health and safety regulations during a hearing before Stonehaven Sheriff Court.

The court heard that the discovery was made during a routine veterinary inspection.

According to the company the carcase had already passed one preliminary inspection and was awaiting the second inspection, when the spleen was found.
