New tracker system
Food distribution businesses with large fleets of lorries will be interested in the lastest tracking system from MAN.
One company that has installed the system in its lorries is Baylis Logistics, a food delivery company. Baylis said the new system means customers can have access to more information about their order, because the company can keep track of its lorries.
The system alerts the company's transport control room of a vehicle's location and of any potential problems enroute. It also monitors fuel consumption and driver performance so that continuous improvements can be made.Proof of delivery is confirmed via a secure website.
Thomas van Mourik, managing director of Baylis Logistics said: "At Baylis we believe in providing customers with as much information as possible to ensure products are delivered in line with their requirements.
"The telematics system is a key part of this."
