Highland Game in mood to celebrate

One of Scotland's leading game processors, Highland Game is celebrating after landing a new deal with Tesco. The company will be supplying two of its Scottish wild venison lines, diced venison and venison steaks, to Tesco stores throughout Scotland.

The company was recently voted as the 'Favourite Taste of Scotland' by Scotland on Sunday & Tesco, and was also voted best in their Area (Area 2 - Angus, Fife, Perth and Kinross, Stirling and Argyll and Bute).

"Scotland is packed with great produce, so to be voted 'favourite' is certainly something," Christian Nissen from Highland Game said.

The deal comes shortly after the company's success at the recent Scottish Food & Drink Awards where its retail range of Scottish wild venison won the award for Best New Product in Retail - Healthy Eating.

The new products will be

accompanied by a recipe specially created by award-winning cookery writer Maxine Clark.

And, in another cause for

celebration, the company has had its venison endorsed with the Scottish Executive's Healthy Living stamp.

Gillian Kynoch, Scottish food and health co-ordinator, Scottish Executive, said: "We are delighted to have Highland Game working with The Scottish Executive."
