Steak out - David Grailey

David Grailey, chief executive of the Meat Training Council, recounts a recent family holiday in the Cotswolds where he ate the most delicious leg lamb steak he has ever tasted.

A few weeks ago my family and I ventured to the Cotswolds for a couple of days leave. The hotel at Upper Slaughter has a restaurant of repute with a menu to make the Carnivore Club salivate! As we were in the Cotswolds I thought it appropriate to try a lamb leg steak. It proved to be one of the most memorable I have ever eaten - tender, flavoursome and a beautiful shade of pink. Not even a glass of red wine had the chance to accompany it, such was its quality.

It will be a mouth watering memory for years to come.
