Mills targets meat again
Scourge of the meat industry Heather Mills is back on the campaign trail for Viva, the animal activist group, urging everyone to go vegan.
Mills is spearheading the groups latest ad campaign targetting the meat sector. Appearing on billboards round the country, Mills is seen in a figure hugging outfit lying on scorched earth with the caption "Hey Meaty, you're making me so hot". The ad claims that meat and dairy animals produce more greenhouse gasses than all the worlds transport combined.
Another ad shows the campaigner, who lost a leg in a motorbike accident, with the caption "You haven't got a leg to stand on!", again focusing on the environmental impact of meat production.
About 100 of the huge billboards are set to be erected around the country, and Mills, 39 told papers: "The startling truth is that animals farmed for meat and dairy are now one of the greatest threats to the planet.
"The United Nations last year issued a shocking report on the environmental damage being done by livestock.
"I became a vegetarian for health reasons. Then I found out about the awful animal abuse in factory farms and dairy herds and became a vegan.
"The easiest and most effective way of cutting our contribution is to change our diet and go vegan. It is that simple."
