Advice on eating sheep and goat meat
The FSA has updated consumers information relating to atypical scrapie in sheep and goats.
A SEAC statement concluded, among other things, that: 'There is no evidence that atypical scrapie can infect humans, although a theoretical risk cannot be excluded.'
In the meantime, the Agency's says its advice on the risk of eating sheep and goats remains unchanged.. People are not being advised to stop eating either product.
